Walt Whitman. THE American poet. The original ORIGINAL. The source of America’s voice and limitless aspiration.
Our namesake engaged life. He pursued it and found it in all things. And, he celebrated it. We recognize that there are many ways that you can spend your time and a lot of people to spend your time with. In life, there are moments that seem right; the people, the food, the drink, the music, the setting. The small things that come together to create lasting memory. Indelible. You remember these things. You hold onto them. Our purpose is to provide a home for you to find these things, to connect, and to create memories that you will always hold close to your heart.
At Walt & Whitman, we will serve approachable yet sophisticated beers that will encourage you to think about experience. Beer at Whitman will not just be something you can have a discussion over, but something that you can have a discussion about. The fruity notes you smell. The taste you get. What your eyes see. It will challenge you to think about beer in a different way – as a foundation of culture and conversation. Conversation will not end here. It will extend into discussions on the space and the vibe. Stories of the photos on the wall. Discussions about music, history, art, poetry, and politic. Discussions amongst friends and family. And, yes, even discussions with the stranger sitting to the left or right of you at the bar.
