Monticelli Brothers
|
|
We are the Monticelli Brothers and we are so happy to invite you into our world of food, wine and family. Past generations of winemakers in our family (our father, our grand father, and our great grand father) knew that food, wine and family were all that was needed for a happy life. We hope to continue that tradition and share our happiness with you by letting you meet our family, drink our wine, and eat wonderful meals made from our old family recipes.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Our 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful balance of power and fruit. The fruit came from Howell Mountain in the Napa Valley. The expression of Howell Mountain is completely obvious in this wine, where thin volcanic soils produced concentrated flavors in the grapes. The volume on this wine is turned all the way up right now with dark ripe fruit that competes for power with the French and American oak lactones. This wine, although a little potent right now, will become a phenomenal, balanced wine in 2-3 years. The years following, the wine will only continue to get better with age.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Caution! This wine is not for the faint of heart. Our 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerhouse Cabernet. This wine, although a little too potent right now, will become a phenomenal, balanced wine in 2-3 years. The years following, the wine will only continue to only get better with age.

NV Rolando Rosso
Our Rolando Rosso is an exquisite blend of vintages and varietals. We choose to ignore the rules and blend a wine that was balanced, and ready to drink now, but contained the structure to be aged for a few more years. This wine is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Sangiovese, and 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. This wine is also a blend of vintages, 50% 2000, 25% 2001, and 25% 2002 vintage. This wine is unbelievably smooth, with rich flavors. We expect to enjoy this wine for the next 4 years.

Sangiovese
Our 2002 Sangiovese is a bright fruit forward wine that has a smell more reminiscent of an Italian Chianti rather than a Napa Valley Wine. The fruit came from the Atlas Peak region of the Napa Valley. The aroma of this wine is an expression of the Atlas Peak fruit. The nose is fruity with cherries, strawberries and some dried apricot. The mouth is full of fleshy plums, with full and unique tannins that are non-intrusive. This 2002 Sangiovese will drink well from September onwards.
