Cherry Hill Winery

Cherry Hill Winery Cherry Hill Winery is a newly-constructed 12,000 square foot winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. We produce about 5,000 cases of estate-grown Pinot Noir each year from our 55-acre Cherry Hill vineyard. And we produce something more: a unique opportunity for visitors to become involved in our winery operations. Stay in our comfortable vineyard cabins, as an individual, a couple, part of a family gathering or corporate event, and you’ll be invited to participate in the actual rhythms of the winery year, from tending spring vines to the drama of autumn’s first crush. At Cherry Hill we also produce private-label wine for individuals, restaurants, distributors and other organizations, crafted from grapes grown in our vineyard or yours. This is a full-service “turn key” approach: we manage your fruit from harvest through bottling, provide scientific lab services to monitor the progress of your vintage, and even arrange for packaging consultation and design.

Cherry Hill Winery Estate Pinot Noir
Our Papillon pinot noir 2004 is a blend of Dijon clones 113 and 115 from our Cherry Hill estate fruit. This fruit comes from 7 year old vines that are planted on our Nekia soil with southwest facing slopes at 300 feet elevation. We noticed in our frequent barrel tasting of the Dijon clones that our winery dog Daisy would anxiously wait for the leftovers from the wine thief. Since Daisy is a Papillon of French descent with a cultured palate, we decided that we would label this wine Papillon. As evidenced by this soft elegant pinot noir, our Papillon has indeed shown a discerning palate. We now follow the Papillon to the barrel of her choice and will only select that which she seeks. Daisy has just returned from her first wine show in New York where she and her wine made their debut. Both were awarded best of show and their best days lie ahead. Both dog and wine are aging well. Come visit the Papillon at Cherry Hill Winery where she is part of the wine experience at the worlds only viticultural dude ranch. She resides in cabin 4 where she hones her skills and greets our guests. (Note the wine glass on Daisy's forehead.)

  Poverty Road Pinot Gris
Poverty Road Pinot Gris is produced from purchased fruit in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. This light white wine is a starter wine, training wheels, a quencher of thirst for those travelling our long road and a rocking chair wine, all in one package. The fruit is sourced from nearby vineyards and is a whole cluster pressing. It is fermented in closed topped stainless steel fermenters and is not stored in oak. Remember, if you drink no gris you pinot gris.
  Sweeney Estate Pinot Noir
Sweeney estate pinot noir is our Reserve Pinot Noir. The wine is 100% Pommard clone from three of Cherry Hills best blocks. These three blocks are known as the holy grail of the vineyard and the fruit is cropped to 2 tons per acre and picked at 23 brix. Our owner, Mike Sweeney selects 20 barrels and shares this delicate wine with family and select friends.
  Vanda Pinot Noir Dry Rosé
Vanda Pinot Noir Dry Rosé is produced from Dijon and Pommard clones from the Cherry Hill estate fruit located in the Eola Hills region of the Oregon Willamette Valley. We pick our fruit at 22 brix, and it is fermented in closed-topped stainless steel tanks. It is not aged in oak and the wine is fined and filtered. The wine is produced and packaged to cater to our lady friends and should be given much like a flower or jewelry. Cherry Hill Winery is part of a group of winemakers and wine drinkers dedicated to righting the wrongs done to the dry rosé. Europeans down copious amounts of rosé but in the U.S. only a handful of sophisticated drinkers quaff this wonderful pink wine.
