Epiphany Cellars

Epiphany Cellars Some people are fortunate enough to experience an event that serves to add direction and clarity in their life. For Eli Parker, this event was his family’s foray into the wine business in 1987, a move that would prove to be an important turning point in his professional life. Eli embarked on a journey which began with apprenticeships and associations with several critically acclaimed winemakers and, in the process, revealed his innate winemaking talent. Winemaking has truly been an epiphany for Eli. Epiphany is a winemaker’s wine, one which satisfies Eli’s passion for and fascination with winemaking. Crafting interesting wines of exquisite quality is the sole reason for the conception of Epiphany. Epiphany’s foundation is built upon the outstanding grapes harvested from the best vineyards throughout Santa Barbara County and beyond. In most cases the Epiphany wines are made with grapes from a single vineyard source in order to accentuate the unique characteristics and terroir of that vineyard. Other Epiphany wines blend grapes from multiple vineyards in order to marry different flavor nuances thereby adding depth and complexity to the final wine.

A seasonal wine, we craft this with warm weather in mind from Grenache and Grenache Noir grown on our Rodney’s and Camp 4 vineyards. At this price you’ll be hard pressed to find a better valued summer quaffer!
  Gypsy
Grenache, which originated from Spain, but is better known as a Rhone varietal, is the second highest planted grape in the world! Typically, this grape has been thought of as a blending grape, but, recently, it has been gaining popularity as its own varietal as a rose or a medium-bodied red wine. While the aromas of this wine hint at black pepper, Gypsy is enhanced by the rich fruit palette of currant and cherry and balanced by the slight tannins and spice flavors on the finish.
  Late Harvest Chardonnay
This elegant dessert wine exhibits soft honey, apricot, citrus, nutmeg and vanilla leaving a caramelized finish on the palate. It pairs beautifully with blue cheese; tart apples & pears as well as sorbets or crème brule with berries or you can have it for dessert by itself! The Late Harvest Chardonnay is sure to satisfy any palette at the end of any meal. Residual sugar is 15.5%

This Petite Sirah will pair well with a braised lamb shank or a casoulet.
  Petite Sirah

Your palate will indulge in the surrounding flavors of blackberry, plum, spice and vanilla. The plush round tannin and the subtle oak background make for an extremely well balanced wine.   Revelation
The latest in a line of delicious, full throttle Rhone blends, this year’s bottling is comprised of Syrah (50%), Grenache (30%), and Mourvedre (20%). This full-bodied red is crafted from fruit harvested from Fess Parker owned vineyards: 69% Camp Four in Santa Ynez Valley and 31% Rodneys Vineyard on Foxen Canyon Road. Aged for 19 months in French oak barrels, this wine shows rich cranberry, dark cherry and plum fruit flavors accented by hints of vanilla and oak. It is a weighty but elegant wine that will compliment grilled meats and roasts perfectly. The only unfortunate part of this new release is that the 2002 gave us less than 200 cases, about half as much as the 2001 vintage. Therefore we suggest you do not delay in securing your bottles!
  Rousanne
Rhone wine enthusiasts most likely appreciate this wine for its wonderful, delicate aromas of honeysuckle, papaya and mango. Or perhaps they are drawn to its bright apple, mango and passionfruit fruit flavors, toasty oak notes and crisp acidity. Whatever the case, we’re sure you’ll find this wine to be interesting, complex and rewarding. Crafted from our Camp 4 vineyards in the heart of the Santa Ynez valley, there are less than 150 cases of this wine made so don’t miss your chance at this ideal companion to summertime cuisine. Roussanne is a relatively obscure white Rhone varietal that at one time dominated the region, but its relatively low yields and high acidity led it to be replaced by higher yielding grapes. The recent decades have brought a reemergence due to its elegant delicate aromas and flavors.
  Syrah “Starlane Vineyard”
Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, black pepper and vanilla are dominant on the nose. Darker fruit flavors of blueberry and black currant combine with spice, vanilla and chocolate on the palate. This is an intensely flavorful wine with well integrated oak and a fair amount of tannin. It should age beautifully and pair well with hearty stews, steaks and chops.
  Syrah Hampton Vineyard
This is our second release from this beautiful little vineyard in the Eastern part of the Santa Ynez valley and it may be better than the first. This vineyard seems to yield a nice combination of big, sweet fruit and smoky earthy nuances.
  Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon
2000 Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon Starlane Vineyard A full-bodied, powerful Syrah-Cabernet 75% syrah and 25% cabernet sauvignon grapes gives this wine exciting aromas of raspberry, strawberry, black cherry and plum. You’ll find a wonderful balance of oak acidity, fruit and vanilla. It calls out for steak along with an evening of enjoyment so don’t forget the chocolate. 100% Starlane Vineyard, Santa Barbara County.
