Waterman Winery and Vineyards

Stiengtunt Vineyards & Winery, Inc. was founded in 1998 by three middle school teachers looking for something interesting to do as retirement from teaching was approaching. So Clem STIely, Larry ENGelsman, and Terrie TUNTland formed STIENGTUNT Vineyards and Winery, Inc.. They used the first parts of each of their last names to give a name to the vineyards and optimistically included "& Winery" as part of the corporation name. Later, when wine was starting to be produced, it was decided to name the line of wines "Sunset Wines" since it was easier to say and spell than Stiengtunt and "Sunset" still had S for Stiely, E for Engelsman, and T for Tuntland. The three partners were also all in the sunset of their careers so it seemed to fit.

Directions
From Tollway I-88 from the West: Take the Annie Glidden Rd. Exit, turn right on Fairview, turn right on 4th St. (Rt.23), turn right on Perry, and left on Waterman Rd. to the Winery. From Tollway I-88 from the East: Take the Peace Rd. Exit, turn right on Peace Rd, left on Fairview, left on 4th St. (Rt. 23), right on Perry, and left on Waterman Rd. to the winery. From Rt. 30 turn North on Elm St. which becomes Waterman Rd. Continue North about 1 1/2 miles to the winery.

DEKALB CO. APPLE WINE
Good sipping wine with a nice apple finish. Not too sweet, just right. Clem calls it "liquid pie".

DEKALB COUNTY SUNSET
A beautiful ruby red wine that is both sweet and tart. Its cherry and cranberry flavors pair nicely with good breads and cheeses, or cheese cake!

LEON MILLOT
A medium bodied dry red wine. This varietal red is good with nearly any food with which you would like to pair it.

RED TABLE WINE
A fruity dry red. Try this wine with steak, pasta, or chocolate!

SUNSET TABLE WINE
A sweet, fragrant, fruity wine with bold grape flavors. Made from Niagara grapes. Try with ham, pork roast, and German style dishes. Great porch or dessert wine.

SWEET SUNSET
Nice for sipping, or try as Sangria by adding ice and fruit.

WATERMAN RED
A blend of red grapes with a sweet-tart cranberry/raspberry essence. Nice for dessert or with cheese and cheesecake.

WATERMAN WHITE
Great with many foods including turkey, chicken, white sause pastas, and fish. Nice with cheese and crackers too.

Great with chicken, turkey, fish, or with cheeses, olives, and fruit.
