  Canoe Ridge Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
The Canoe Ridge Estate Cabernet delivers black cherry fruit, spicy oak, leather and sweet caramel characters. Its soft, elegant, slightly dusty finish is typical of Canoe Ridge Estate. This wine shows the more “subtle” side of Washington Cabernet. It doesn’t hit you over the head, but rather gently entices you with seductive fruit and spice layers. Try this with penne pasta marinara or veal scaloppini. Those slightly “dusty Tuscan” tannins are a great match with Italian foods.
  Canoe Ridge Estate Chardonnay
“The Canoe Ridge Estate Chardonnay is fresh, vibrant and elegant. This wine is all about the "Canoe Ridge" style of Chard; fruit forward aromas of melon and gala apples on the nose lead to a creamy yet delicate palate. The finish is elegant and refined with light spice notes, which are a result of the restrained French oak treatment.” Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Canoe Ridge Estate Syrah
“More cherry and Rhone-like in its refinement and complexity, this wine is not going to be a big jammy Syrah. Enjoy its more elegant, dusty tannisand red cherry character.” -Bob Bertheau, winemaker
  Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard Merlot
“This Merlot exhibits bright red cherry and currant fruit aromas and flavors. Canoe Ridge Estate expresses itself in this way in most of the reds. We allow this Merlot to stay a little more refined and elegant, accenting it with spicy, restrained French oak, while retaining plenty of that trademark Washington concentration.” Bob Bertheau, Head Winemaker
  Col Solare Red Blend
Aromas of dark chocolate, cherry and currant are joined by hints of vanilla and clove. The aromatics carry through the rich and balanced palate. This is a complex wine that culminates in a long and silky finish. (80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot)
  Cold Creek Cabernet Franc
Concentrated aromas of blueberries and bittersweet chocolate are threaded with cinnamon and blackberry. Flavors of red fruit are met with big, even tannins that create a long and lively finish.
  Cold Creek Riesling
“Cold Creek Vineyard has a long tradition of producing a rich, soft tropical style of Riesling because of the area’s warm temperatures. This 2006 Cold Creek Riesling offers a fruit-driven, ripe peach character, while maintaining a refined elegance.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Cold Creek Syrah
“Big, extracted, with boysenberry jam character, this vineyard always produces concentrated wines and the Syrah from Cold Creek is no exception. This is our wild, brambly and dense Syrah.” -Bob Bertheau, Head Winemaker
  Cold Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
“Cabernet from this 30-year-old vineyard always delivers power, structure and rich concentrated black fruit characters. I have tried to harness this power into something a little friendlier in the first few years of release, while not taking away from its inherent ability to age. The 100% Cabernet stands up to the 69% new oak with all its weight and structure.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Cold Creek Vineyard Chardonnay
“This Cold Creek Chardonnay shows off the power and depth that typifies the vineyard. It exhibits flavors of baked apples and lemon meringue. We used a slightly higher percentage of new oak because it gives this wine nicely integrated smoke and toast flavors on the finish. The structure and acidity insure a long life for those who choose to set down their Chardonnays a few years.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Cold Creek Vineyard Merlot
“This is a big Merlot! It delivers concentrated aromas of dark chocolate truffles, plum, molasses and cedar. It is bold and fullbodied with soft, chewy tannins and a mouth-coating finish. Cold Creek Merlot showcases our “icon” vineyard with a Washington “icon” variety. Enjoy this wine with a thick, juicy bone-in rib eye or a hearty beef stew–Cold Creek Merlot can stand up to almost anything you throw at it!” - Bob Bertheau, Head Winemaker
  Columbia Crest Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
“Black olive, cherry and chocolate aromatics precede a palate of cocoa, black cherry and vanilla flavors. This is an intense, complex wine that culminates in a balanced, lingering finish.” -Ray Einberger, Winemaker
  Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
With our Columbia Valley Cabernet we want to highlight concentrated Washington red fruit in an accessible style. The 2003 Cab offers expressive blackberry and black fruit characteristics and is a touch floral.
  Columbia Valley Chardonnay
“My goal is to make the Columbia Valley Chardonnay our pleasurable, food-friendly Chardonnay. The wine strikes the perfect balance of integrated fruit and oak. This is a soft, creamy Chardonnay with layered fruit characters of apricot, papaya and lemon zest accented by subtle oak nuances. I work with vineyard lots from all over the Columbia valley to make a complex, interesting Chardonnay. One of my mantras is “complexity through diversity”, and this wine personifies that. This is a versatile food wine that can work with many dishes including chicken, pork and white sauce pastas. It is truly the “I’ll have another glass of Chard” wine. “ -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Columbia Valley Gewurztraminer

  Columbia Valley Grenache
“Aromas of strawberry preserves, cherry, leather and cedar lead to a jammy mid palate and clean finish.” -Bob Bertheau, winemaker

This Riesling consistently delivers classic Washington state Riesling characters of juicy peach, ripe pear, melon, with subtle mineral notes. This is our everyday Riesling that is versatile and easy to drink.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Columbia Valley Sauvignon Blanc
“The 2004 Sauvignon Blanc delivers sweet citrus and fig aromas and flavors. This is a fresh, fruit-driven, soft style of Sauvignon Blanc. We added a touch of Semillon for richness.”

White pepper spice aromas lead to rich black cherry and blackberry jam flavors. This is a soft, lush and jammy style of Syrah with a lingering coffee, brambleberry finish.
  Columbia Valley Viognier
“Enticing floral aromas of honeysuckle and green tea lead into a fruit-filled palate of Asian pear and spice. This Viognier is lush and exotic, with a slightly oily finish adding just the right amount of body.” -Bob Bertheau, winemaker
  Ethos Chardonnay
“As the pinnacle of Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay, my vision for Ethos is old world complexity and elegance with concentrated Washington fruit. Sourced predominately from our vineyard at Canoe Ridge Estate, the 2004 Ethos shows the delicacy of Canoe Ridge Estate fruit, but with complexity from the natural fermentation. This Chard exhibits intriguing citrus, floral and mineral notes, which give way to an elegant, refined wine with an easy finish.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Ethos Late Harvest Riesling
“A complex wine, the Ethos Late Harvest Riesling exudes aromas of honey, apricot and spice. The harmonious balance of sugar and natural acidity results in a smooth and viscous mouthfeel and a long-lasting finish.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Ethos Merlot
“This is the pinnacle Merlot from the vintage, incorporating our personal expression of “old world” style, while showing off the power of Washington fruit. The wine is complex but fruit is the star of the show. Black cherry, plum, cocoa, leather, cedar and dried herb aromas lead to a rich palate with velvety, elegant tannins. This Merlot should age gracefully for 8-10 years easily.” - Bob Bertheau, Head Winemaker
  Ethos Syrah
“As the pinnacle tier for Chateau Ste. Michelle, all Ethos wines offer layers of complexity and the Syrah is no exception. As we tasted this one for descriptive notes, we went on and on...but if you have to hold us to a few...the wine delivers aromas and flavors of dark plum, boysenberry, cocoa, roasted coffee and caramel with a full, round, chewy palate and a long finish. The wine is fruit forward, yet incredibly layered, making it a versatile match for almost any pasta or meat dish. However, my classic pairing for this one would have to be lamb. Try it...you’ll like it!” - Bob Bertheau, Head Winemaker
Horse Heaven Late Harvest Chenin Blanc
“This is the first time we have made a Late Harvest Chenin Blanc. We are passionate about dessert wines at Chateau Ste. Michelle and enjoyed experimenting with a Late Harvest wine made from Chenin Blanc grapes. This complex wine exhibits aromas and flavors of honeydew, lime and orange marmalade. The palate is balanced with sweet fruit and natural acidity with a smooth finish.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Indian Wells Cabernet Sauvignon
“This is the second vintage of the Indian Wells Cabernet, and the wine showcases the characteristics of a warmer climate Cabernet. The wine opens with explosive fruit aromas. Flavors and aromas of jammy blackberry, smoke, warm toast and hints of vanilla mingle on the palate.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Indian Wells Chardonnay
“The warmth of the Wahluke Slope consistently produces Chardonnays with an appealing tropical fruit character. The 2005 Indian Wells Chard is no exception. The wine delivers pineapple and mango aromas along with hints of fresh red apples and ripe apricots. The 2005 version has slightly better acidity than previous vintages and gives the wine a nice crisp balance to go along with the tropical characters. A perfect wine with scallops, scampi or pasta with slightly richer sauces.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker

The 2005 Indian Wells Riesling exhibits fruit-driven aromas of ripe, juicy pineapple, peach and mango and is rich and unctuous, while maintaining a crisp, well-balanced style that is typical of Washington state Riesling.” -Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
  Indian Wells Vineyard Merlot
winemaker's notes: An elegant wine with a perfume nose, followed by black cherry, slight sweet herb and hints of vanilla. Ripe and concentrated fruit flavors are accented by mocha, coffee, and slight cedar notes in the background. Vanilla and caramel are picked up in the long finish.
  Marier Sauvignon Blanc
“This is our first Sauvignon Blanc produced exclusively from Cold Creek fruit. I like to call it our ‘Wild Thing’ wine because of its complexity and bold expression of Washington fruit. Crafted in an Old World style, it exudes aromas of grass and sweet pea and delivers flavors of white grapefruit, slate and wet stone. This is an excellent wine to pair with many types of cuisine.” - Bob Bertheau, Winemaker
