2001 Mt. Oso Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Fermented in small lots, aged 27 months in small French Oak barrels. Full malolactic fermentation. Nose - Blackberry, violets, toast, dried figs, anise, nutmeg, cocoa, cigar box, clove, nuances of currant and coffee. Flavors - Black cherry, clove, plum, chocolate, nutmeg, anise, vanilla bean, nuance of cedar and mocha. Mouth Feel -Velvety smooth initially, bursting with bright, mouth filling fruit mid-palate and marvelous tannic structure. Finish - Full bodied and rich, refined and elegant, the finish leaves lingering flavors of ripe berry fruit, dark chocolate and oak. This Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the best of the Mt. Oso Vineyard, rich and full bodied with elegant structure and depth. Dark berry, cherry, chocolate and spices with nuances of anise and mocha. 2002 Lake County Old Vine Zinfandel
Our Old Vine Zinfandel is 100% Lake County, from a single vineyard near the base of Mt. Konocti, in the alluvial bed of an ancient river. Strawberry, raspberry, and cherry abound in the nose as well as on the palate, blending deliciously with honey and molasses. Silky, smooth with a spicy, ripe cherry finish. Lake County Old Vine Zinfandel
Intense black cherry, blackberry, and strawberry aromas are accentuated by delicate coffee and dark chocolate notes. Lake County Sauvignon Blanc
Fermented cool in stainless steel tanks, aged briefly in French Bordeaux and Burgundy barrels, and bottled while still young and lively. This wine underwent no malolactic fermentation. The 2002 vintage offers aromas of lemongrass, Asian pear, peach and grapefruit, with hints of racy green pepper and flint. Crisp and vibrant flavors of mouth watering citrus and stone fruit are followed with cool mineral notes and a clean refreshing finish. Try this wine with your favorite cheese and green apples.

Mirage
50% Merlot - 50% Syrah Blend. Soft, sweet and gentle aromas of rhubarb in a delicious blend of vanilla, caramel and opulent milk chocolate caress the nose. The mid-palate of ripe plums, boysenberries and maple syrup rise slowly to a crescendo of raspberry, cherry and créme brulee. A luscious wine that is just sinfully seductive.

Mt. Oso Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Cabernet was batch fermented in small lots and then aged in French oak barrels for 24 months. Dark ruby-purple in color, our 2001 Mt. Oso Cabernet Sauvignon offers a classic cabernet nose, with black cherry, cedar and sandalwood aromas followed by subtle hints of clove and vanilla, finishing with a smoky mintiness. A robust and voluptuous wine with flavors of strawberry jam, pepper, spice, blackberry and cinnamon. A silky texture coats the palate, evolving rich essences of leather and earth that balance the up front fruit from the Mt. Oso soil. This is an extraordinary vintage that will be remembered. Hold one for 10 years if you can.

Mt. Oso Chardonnay
Picked whole cluster, barrel fermented in French and Hungarian oak, and aged sur lies for 10 months. The wine underwent no malolactic fermentation, preserving the crisp acidity and fresh fruitiness of the grapes. Lush, tropical aromas of ripe banana, pear, citrus, honey, and a hint of hazelnut are set off by a trace of toasty oak on the nose. Tropical fruits erupt on the palate. An enticing blend of lemon, banana, pineapple, and passion fruit are balanced by a subtle vanilla and almond finish. Mt. Oso Merlot
Aged 60% new French oak barrels for 20 months prior to bottling.This exceptional vintage of Merlot offers up an exotic nose of blueberries, violets and chocolate, with a touch of sage. The smooth, balanced palate provides blackberry, raspberry and cracked black pepper against a slight mintiness. Well tamed tannins give ample support for the very long finish. This wine is perfect with hearty fare.

Mt. Oso Mirage
A proprietary blend of select lots of Merlot and Syrah, resulting in a unique wine balancing up front fruit from Merlot with the terroir influenced earthiness of Syrah. A gorgeous combination of boysenberry, mint, and plum with lovely notes of violets, cedar and roasted coffee beans tempt the nose. Flavors of wild berries, eucalyptus, and truffle are followed nicely by a dash of dark chocolate and a juicy burst of blueberry on the finish. An exceptionally food friendly wine, enjoy with game hens, cheeses, and spicy pasta sauces.

Mt. Oso Reserve Chardonnay
Grapes were whole cluster pressed, then fermented at 60º in Hungarian Oak barrels (30% new). Twice daily battonage was performed along with sur-lies aging for complexity, and 15% malolactic fermentation was allowed for depth and texture. Offering scintillating aromas of ripe pear, papaya, citrus and coconut, this wine delivers flavors of green apple, banana, and pineapple, with touches of honeysuckle and almond on a creamy, supple texture. Elegantly smooth and polished through a persistent finish. Delightfully drinkable! Enjoy slightly chilled.

Our Syrah was aged 20 months in Bordeaux barrels. Eucalyptus, mocha and toffee accentuate the ripe cherry and dark chocolate flavors which are balanced and integrated with ripe tannins. Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine was aged for 38 months in small French oak barrels, 35% new, from the forests of Troncais and Allier. A superb vintage in Napa Valleyprovided exceptionally balanced ripeness in the fruit. A big wine, with dense blackberry, licorice and tobacco aromas, adding damp earth and violets to produce a rich yet delicate nose. Complex flavors of dark cherry, raspberry, cigar box, and dried fennel blend nicely with the toasty oak. Velvety tannins give exquisite texture and body, and a finish which borders on endless.

Excellent growing conditions prevailed in Napa Valley in 2002. Our Petite Sirah is a robust and voluptuous wine, full of black cherry, leather, and dried berry aromas, with touches of cocoa and herbs. Flavors of raspberry, black plum and roasted coffee integrate seamlessly with oak and dark chocolate. Powerful and elegant, with a polished finish that cascades layers of plush flavors.
