Since all mead is fermented from honey, the honey we use matters enormously. Before making our very first batch, the owners of Groennfell Meadery tried dozens of different honeys from all around North America. After we awoke from our pre-diabetic comas, we had a winner! And, even cooler, the winner is local and produces enough honey to keep us supplied year-round! So, we can proudly say that every batch we brew is made with 100% Single-Source honey from an apiary less than four hours from our meadery. Everything we produce is fermented dry then carbonated.
This however, is not the whole story. The quality of our honey, water, yeast, and fruit is only what makes our product taste good. What makes our mead special is our community of Meadiacs: the devoted mead drinkers who share our beverage with friends and help spread the good word. Mead has a long history as a social beverage. So, if you love mead, share the love with friends and family.
