Black Cherries, plum, black berries and black licorice with a hint of well-integrated new oak set this wine apart from the "ho-hum" cabernets. As the flavors make their way through the palate, a touch of coffee, leather and toast can be found, ending with a bright finish that begs to be paired with red meats and red sauces. The grapes came to us from the vineyard with perfectly balanced chemistry and excellent flavor. From the day this wine finished secondary fermentation, these aromas and flavors have been quite apparent. With the benefit of new oak- and cellar-aging, it has become even more pleasing and complex.

Thirty hours after crush we removed 1/3 of the juice to make our Rose', leaving all the skins with the remaining ferment. The result of the concentrated pigments and flavors contributed by the skins is an increase in the wonderful varietal character. Very nice, soft and fruity red wine with delicate pipe tobacco on the first nose. Taste is fruit forward with a very soft but long finish including sweet basil and tarragon that you will simply love. This is an excellent example of what Lemberger grapes can do in Washington state.

This single vineyard Merlot was so superb on it's own that we could find no benefit from blending. Very ripe grapes from a warm growing season and a long, warm fall produced this delicious, soft yet full bodied wine. Seventeen months in new French and American Oak barrels in our low humidity cellar resulted in significant concentration of the wonderful attributes of this wine. Aromas include ripe plum orchard with freshly cut hay and warm, tilled earth. On the palate (this is good!) we get ripe black cherries with a luscious strawberry chocolate torte that finishes with nutty dark chocolate. This one is a "must have" for every cellar.

A Bordeaux blend with a whiff of Rhone? Taste it and you will understand. The marvelous backbone of this wine is provided by Cabernet Sauvignon from 2 Columbia valley vineyards. The Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah build the complexity and round out the palate with fruit and earth. Aromas of dark fruit, coffee and oak offer an inviting welcome to your senses. Front palate shows blackberries and cherries, generous tannins and firm acid. Give this a little swirl in the glass to open it up and enjoy this versatile wine with red meat or even a cedar plank salmon. 84% Cabernet Sauvignon - 6% Merlot - 6% Cabernet Franc - 4% Syrah

This wine begs to be paired with an Italian meal. Firm acid and modest tannins make this light Italian style red a perfect wine with every day meals. Cherry pie (think pie cherries and baking pastry) on the first whiff will make it difficult to wait for the main course. The finish remains crisp with a hint of orange peel and strawberry.

The varietal is obvious as soon as it hits the glass. Deep color and characteristic syrah nose are a dead give away. Mineral slate forward changing quickly to bright fruit with a lovely finish including a suggestion of green peppercorn. Soft and modest tannins make this one an early drinker.
