Joullian Vineyards
Joullian Vineyards was created by the Joullian and Sias families of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with the goal of producing estate-crafted wines with the complexity, finesse and ageability characteristic of the finest wines of the world. Recognizing the need for estate control, the partnership embarked upon a long-term plan and soon engaged Ridge Watson, with international winemaking experience, to seek and develop the unique combination of land, vineyards and winery facilities necessary for fine wine production.

"Sias Cuvee" Zinfandel, Carmel Valley Estate
Dark garnet color with red rim. Spicy cedar, plum, black cherry and rose petal nose. Nicely balanced plum, black cherry, anise and vanilla flavors finish smoothly with notable hints of cinnamon and bittersweet chocolate.
Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2002 Joullian Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect, elegant foil to the powerful 2001...both wines have nearly identical concentration of black fruit and anise flavors, but the 2002 tannins are silky and the nose is perfumed versus the fruity, massive 2001. Ladies and Gentlemen, vintage does make a demonstrable (positive) difference in great appellations like Carmel Valley.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmel Valley Estate
Dark ruby garnet color with a cherry rim. Perfumey cherry blossoms, blackberries and plum aromas mix with a spicy anise/cedar and a smoky oak nose. Bright blackberries lead to a spicy/peppery cassis/anise middle that softens to a dark bittersweet chocolate and cedar finish. This big, bold and rich Cabernet with moderate tannins will allow the power and elegance of this wine to age through 2017 at 55°F.
Cepage Retro Rouge
Dark garnet color. Spicy vanilla, black plum, licorice, and mulberry nose. A cassis and black plum entry expands to a melange of black raspberry, pie cherry, mushroom and cocoa flavors that linger with just enough tannic "grip" to maintain a balanced finish.
Chardonnay, Monterey
Brilliant, green-tinted straw gold color. Floral honeysuckle, Asian pear, lychee and roasted grain aromas perfume the nose. An elegant, round, pear-apple entry expands into a fruity, lime, Granny Smith apple and minerally mid-palate that finishes crisply with nuances of citrus, green apples, and hazelnut. Cellar through 2008.
Family Reserve Sauvignon Blanc
Brilliant pale green straw color. Bright pomello, pear and citrus nose complexed by crème brulé and herbs. Rich pomello, tart Asian pear and key lime fruit flavors expands to a rich, creamy mid-palette that leads to a crisp, white grapefruit and mineral finish…very Bordeaux Blanc! Very unctuous, and totally irresistible. Cellar at 55º F through 2009.
Merlot
This is our richest Merlot since 1994, but it still maintains the Old World combination of structure, balance, flavor and aging potential which are the hallmarks of all Joullian red wines. The wine was bottled un-fined, so expect some natural sediment to form after several more years of aging.
Roger Rose Chardonnay
Roger and Rose Marie Hernandez planted their eight-acre Arroyo Seco estate vineyard in 1988 to six French clones of Chardonnay that originated at the University of Beaune's Dijon Research Station. The clones 77 and 809 in particular exhibit exotic aromatics. However, the precise source of RogerRose's unique lychee fruit and honeysuckle-like nose that is anyone's guess — perhaps it is due to the influence of the Dijon clones, or to Roger's farming practices that reduce cluster and berry size to half the California norm, or to the sandy, rocky soil around Arroyo Seco Road.
Sleepy Hollow Chardonnay
Middle-body, focus, ageability and palate length justify Sleepy Hollow's lofty reputation. So after enjoying our 2004's youthful European-styled raciness, hold some back for three to five years to experience the elegant richness, length and staying power of wine from this unique vineyard.
Syrah
The final blend was aged in new and one year old Center of France thin-stave barrels and bottled unfined…so consider decanting off a touch of sediment in 12-18 months.
Zinfandel Rose, Carmel Valley Estate
Salmon pink color. Perfumed nose of strawberries, maraschino cherries, rhubarb and ginger. Fruity, strawberry laden entry expands to a bold mid-palate bursting with strawberry, kiwi and pie cherry flavors that finish just off dry, crisp and with a hint of spritz.
