Verite Wines
|
|
French for 'truth', Vérité reflects our commitment to crafting the most authentic expression of the vineyard. Simply put, but profound in its intent, we are dedicated to producing red wines of style and substance using traditional methods and the finest fruit from mountain vineyards throughout Sonoma County. The Vérité Estate is located in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountain range at the southern tip of Sonoma County's Alexander Valley. Vérité's unique location is known for superior soil, climate, and potential to express a strong sense of terroir. The blocks within each vineyard, or crus, as Vigneron Pierre Seillan refers to them, are based on specific criteria of soil, climate, and aspect for their potential to express a strong sense of terroir. Within each cru micro-crus are isolated to form the base of each Vérité wine.

La Joie
blend comprised primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, La Joie expresses the richness and depth of a Pauillac-style wine. This wine begins with a blackberry color and a slightly spicy nose that possesses a note of smoke. Although La Joie’s velvet texture is soft, it is powerful Cabernet Sauvignon fruit defines this wine. Intense black fruit flavor is complemented by hints of espresso and grilled herbs. Merlot adds a vibrant red berry character that enhances the full-bodied profile of this wine. Soft hints of vanilla are present in the impressive finish.

La Joie
Clearly superb fruit and what some term as "grip" or structure. In our context, this implies weight and flavor and not heaviness or overpowering density. The purity of the fruit of La Joie is exceptional now, but it will become even more velvety, without losing its dark fruit, over the next decade.

La Muse
French for 'inspiration', La Muse is crafted primarily from Merlot fruit and represents a Pomerol-style wine. This wine's distinctive fruit purity in the nose and richness on the palate is the result of sourcing grapes from the Mayacamas Mountain in Sonoma.
A blend comprised primarily of Merlot, La Muse demonstrates the elegance and finesse of a Pomerol style wine. This wine begins with a deep purple color, followed by a blackberry nose that is enhanced by a hint of chocolate and polished wood. The full, soft mouth is distinctly elegant as each layer has unique flavor and texture. Red berry flavor prevails, including raspberry and notes of huckleberry. Cabernet Franc provides structure, and coupled with well-integrated tannins, results in a long, graceful finish.

La Muse
The wine retains a similar lineage with red and black fruit characters and a texture of velvet with undeniable complexity. Full flavors of sweet blackberry, licorice, roasted tobacco and espresso, the 2000 La Muse will drink beautifully for the next 15 years.

Le Désir
A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec, Le Désir represents the grace and opulence of the best St. Emilion-style wines. A deep claret color is followed by a sweet, black fruit nose. Le Désir’s complex character continues with ripe blackberry flavors that are surprisingly soft given the intensity of the fruit. This wine embodies a truly remarkable integration of wood, acidity, alcohol and tannin.

Le Désir
Cabernet Franc from the mountains of Knights Valley is what gives this wine its unique character. The 2000 Le Désir is a deep, saturated purple color with a tremendous bouquet of sweet black fruits. Complex and alluring, this wine can be enjoyed now and over the next twenty years.
