Larson Family Winery

Larson Family Winery Winemaker Tom Larson, and his wife, Becky, would like to personally invite you to a unique wine country experience. Larson Family Winery is a working winery, evident from the tanks and wine barrels, but it is so much more. The Larson family has owned this land since the late 1800’s, where it was once the bustling port of the old Embarcadero. Years later it became the biggest rodeo venue in Northern California, run by Tom’s Uncle Jack. Today, the family vineyard produces some of the best wines around. We invite you to visit our tasting room to see (and taste) for yourself. Bring the whole family -- kids and dogs are always welcome at the winery. Max, Ruff & Sunny, the winery dogs, will be sure to welcome you when you arrive. Visit with Dolly the llama and Spongy the sheep. Pack a picnic and enjoy a game of bocce ball on our regulation size Bocce Court. You can even stroll or mountain bike further down Millerick lane to view the native wildlife along the creek. River Otters, Blue Herons, Turtles and Canadian Geese are just a few of the locals that you may see.

  Carneros Estate Gewurtztraminer
The Larson’s own vineyards produced all the grapes for this wine. Hand-picked at the peak of ripeness, pressed, chilled, settled, and racked the juice into Stainless Steel tanks for cold fermentation at 50° F preserving the flowery aromas and wonderful fruit flavors. Our Carneros Gewurztraminer is a rich complex Alsatian style Gewurztraminer. Made in the dry style, the fresh citrus and tropical fruit flavors blend smoothly with the complex fruity Muscat flavor of Linalool (indigenous to Gewurztraminer), to create a complex, fresh, wonderful tasting wine. Enjoy this with Spicy Asian food, great for picnics, with fresh melons, or just a nice summer sipper alone. Serve Chilled.
  Carneros Estate Pinot Noir
This wine is deep and rich with Black Cherry, cola, tea, and vanillin flavors. The tannins are soft and supple; the mouth feel has a long finish that reflects the complexity of the nose. This wine is ready to be consumed now but will improve significantly with bottle age for the next three to five years.
  Estate Chardonnay
The 2004 Estate Chardonnay has bright aromas of apple, pear, vanilla, and butter. Aged on the lees in new French oak for 14 months imparted the oaky smoky vanilla flavors. This Chardonnay is full and smooth on the palate with enough acidity to be the perfect complement as an appetizer wine or the main course entrée.
  Pinot Grigio Estate
There are less than 25 acres of producing Pinot Grigio vines in the Carneros region, making this a truly unique wine. Our Carneros Pinot Grigio is a crisp, clean, dry style of Pinot Grigio. The fresh citrus, grapefruit, apple, peach flavors blend smoothly with a crisp clean finish. The cool Carneros climate produces a naturally balanced wine which will age well in years to come. Enjoy this wine with all foods, it is outstanding, fresh and clean. No oak, no ML fermentation. Bottled in December 2005.
Sadler Wells Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
The varietal aromas marry with the vanilla and spice of the barrels giving a distinctive Cabernet flavor. Currant and cherry fruit flavors without raisin or herbaceous character describe this wine. This is a wine to roll around in your mouth. Every taste is different and immensely enjoyable. The vanilla and chocolate finish adds to the wine’s fruity characteristics.   Sonoma County Syrah Reserve
Grown in Sonoma County’s best Syrah producing appellations, the Dry Creek, Sonoma, and Alexander Valleys, this Syrah develops intense flavors. This Syrah is loaded with ripe, juicy jammy aromas, accented by a small amount of spice, and framed in luscious French oak. Our Reserve Syrah is great wine to drink with barbecue, Spicy Asian, thick Juicy Steaks, or stand alone. The rich flavors match well with braised pork or lamb to enhance your elegant dinners. Wonderful now, the wine has the balance to improve with bottle aging for the next three to five years.
  Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Estate
A tilted glass of our Cabernet Sauvignon reveals a deep garnet-red color. While vanillin, currant and dark cherry fruit flavors describe this luscious wine, the varietal aromas marry with the vanilla and spice of the barrels giving it a distinctive Cabernet essence. This is one to roll around in your mouth; every sip is unique and infinitely pleasurable. The vanilla and chocolate finish adds to the wine’s fruity characteristics. Quite wonderful now, aging will prove a real treat for the lucky few.
