Cabernet Sauvignon Ash Hollow
This cherry bomb just about blew up the barrel! A little bottle ageing has sanded the wood smooth exposing a bit of pencil lead and juniper. Then there’s the cherry. Somehow fresh baby figs and a rose petal managed to find their way in. This is a smooth easy, I mean easy, drinking cabernet.

Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley
Memories of a walk through Klicker Mountain strawberry patch late in harvest after a summer storm with a wisp of a distant campfire (yes, this actually means something to me!). Cassis, dark plum, and well done steak, this earthy cab satisfies both the fruit lover and the carnivore.

Carmenére Walla Walla Valley
Sophistication and Class with plenty of panache. This varietal has grown up since its Reininger debut last year. Shedding some of its “in your face” and “chew it up” attitude, this more refined 2003 Carmenere has learned to control and present its larger than life varietal character of white pepper, spice, boysenberry, blackberry, and black cherry in the REININGER tradition of restraint and elegance. This is the most intriguing wine REININGER has ever made!

Cima Walla Walla Valley
Cima, stylistically a child of the Supertuscan, is Seven Hills Vineyard sangiovese grosso blended with Bordeaux varietals from the Walla Walla Valley. As with its mentors of Brunello di Montalcino, Cima is aged two and a half years in new French oak and bottle aged one and a half years before release. I have affectionately dubbed Cima our “SUPERWALLAN”.
The nose offers a semi sweet melding of rhubarb-strawberry, and black raspberry with cedar, pencil and thyme. A taste brings the unexpected pleasure of a dry Chambord liqueur, smoky-raw steak with minced black olives. Supple, almost chalky, tannins, playing off of a mellow tartness complete this culinary diva.

Helix Aspersa Columbia Valley
Spicy floral notes ride on a cool tropical breeze of guava and a whiff of banana before plunging you into a refreshing dip of the same, swirling with lemon drop, and pear with a splash of lingering butterscotch. This is a versatile, dry, sumptuous, medium bodied wine with, refreshing acidity that reminds you when you slow down (think snail) “it’s great to be alive”!
|
Helix Merlot Columbia Valley
Chewy dark cherries, plum, vanilla bean, and French roast coffee beans. This smooth merlot is sure to bring pleasure to any hearty meal.

Helix Merlot Rosé Columbia Valley

Helix Pomatia Columbia Valley
Subtle richness and intensity of fruit suggesting a loftier pedigree, accompanied by an incredible soft mouth feel, define this as a non-pretentious, kick-back wine of casual elegance. Black cherry, raspberry, a splash of pomegranate, unpicked mint, a hint of cedar, a whiff of roasted coffee stirred with a pinch of cocoa; ingredients for a comfortable evening.
|
Helix Sangiovese Columbia Valley
Vibrant notes of raspberry with orange zest penetrate the nose followed by candied pecan and a whiff of wood dust. This Italian “snailion” thunders across the open range kicking up a tingling sensation of cranberry, pomegranate and racy acidity. As the dust of mild dark chocolate settles on the fruited plane behind the distant galloping snail, your bow legged pallet will be yearning for more.

Helix Syrah Columbia Valley
Blueberry sauce, fresh vanilla bean, and a sprig of lavender; if I didn’t know better, I can almost sense dessert coming at me. The luxurious mouth feel is settling me into my favorite wing-back arm chair as I savor the blueberry with Chinese plum sauce and the zest of orange. Mannnn…. I don’t want to stand up. I thinketh me arse is planted. Lets here it for the snail!

Malbec Pepper Bridge Vineyard
I absolutely love this wine. It replaces the "mal" in Malbec with magnifique! Sumptuous Blackberry pie and fig, with high notes of black cherry and dried plum, are beautifully integrated with the new French oak's fine tannin structure, weathered red cedar spice and a subtle shaving of coconut. The finish doesn't miss a beat. It charges on in Energizer Bunny style, "it keeps on going and going and..."

Merlot Walla Walla Valley
This elegant Walla Walla merlot is extremely concentrated with flavors of chocolate and spice. Velvety, currant, cocoa-espresso flavors reveal lush black currant and plum, while mingling in exotic brown spice. The wine is supple and polished, finishing with an offering of dried cherry gently dipped in chocolate.

Syrah Walla Walla Valley
This is a more classic, northern Rhone style syrah that flexes a little muscle with its tannin structure. Complete with blueberry, apricot, and a touch of earthiness, this syrah is bound to make the traditionalist in you smile.
