The 2004 early Muscat has the same floral aromatics that tantilize the nose and linger long into the finish, but this year with more peach than apricot. The aromatics are embellished by a silky smooth texture that glides across your palate and holds the flavors throughout the long finish. The frizzante style adds a touch of levity to the wine and keeps you from taking it too seriously. The 2004 Dewey Kelly Early Muscat is excellent before, during, or after dinner (or breakfast, for that matter). Once again it is in short supply with only 60 cases made.

Bright, crisp, and clean, with apple flavors and undertones of tropical fruit and grapefruit, our early release Pinot Gris is a perfect summer wine. Great for sipping by itself or with cheese, it also holds up well to light curries or hard-to-match Asian cuisine. Portends great things for the Pinot Gris Reserve, to be released late this summer. Extremely limited with only 20 cases bottled.

The 2004 Pinot Gris perfectly captures the essence of the pinot gris grapes in the vineyard. It is bright and crisp with tropical notes of star fruit and pineapple. Like the 2003, it was barrel fermented and remained in the barrels, sur lies, for four months. This gives it body and depth that sustain the bright crispness and fruit flavors all the way through to the finish. Great for sipping by itself or with cheese, poultry, or seafood, it also holds up well to spicy curries or hard-to-match Latin or Asian cuisine. Just 51 cases were bottled.

This critically aclaimed wine is extraordinarily soft, elegant, and complex for third-leaf fruit. The 60% Pommard-clone fruit provides a juicy foundation of black cherries and purple plum with the Dijon 777-clone fruit adding some brighter overtones of red berries and cherry. Subtle hints of violets add to the elegance of the wine and the French oak gives it a long, toasty finish. The wine is nicely structured and is very drinkable now with six months of bottle age. Drink now through 2013.

This wine is a worthy successor to our highly rated 2003 Estate Pinot Noir. Once again, the wine is soft and complex. Raspberries and red cherries highlight a juicy foundation of black cherry and plum. The oak provides a sturdy backbone and a bit of toasted spice, but the fruit dominates from the start to the long, elegant finish. In our opinion, this wine is ahead of where the 2003 was at this point. It has good structure and great fruit, so while drinkable now, it will get better with bottle age and be a cellar favorite for the next decade. Total production was 300 cases.
