Emerson Vineyards

The short history of Emerson Vineyards started in 2001 when we bought the property. We are located in the very beautiful Willamette Valley in Oregon, in between the towns of Corvallis and Monmouth. The vineyard and winery are on a hill that faces south in a picturesque valley that travels east to west with views of the coast range and the majestic Cascade range to the east. Prior to planting grapes in early 2002 the 127 acres were farmed for grass seed. The first planting of 15 acres was with three clones of Pinot Noir grafted plants on a gradual south facing slope at the eastern most section of the property. The second planting was in the early spring in 2003. Two clones of Pinot Noir were planted over about six more acres. In 2004 we planted another acre of mixed varieties which include Leon Millot, Baco Noir, Oberlin Noir and Marachel Foch. These American varieties will be used for blending.

Emerson Vineyards Chardonnay
Emerson Vineyards Chardonnay is fresh, tropical and round, with candied pineapple and mango notes, creamy texture, and balanced acidity. A delicious contrast to the heavily oaked, buttery style of a California Chardonnay. Try with grilled shrimp, pasta salad, or pork tenderloin.

Emerson Vineyards Pinot Gris
Emerson Vineyards Pinot Gris is made in the Alsatian style with heady, perfumed aromatics. There are scents of honeysuckle and clove giving way to green apple, stone fruit, and honey flavors. Silver and brilliant, rich in mid-palate, this bottling is dry, finishing with grapefruit and mineral flavors. Enjoy with pesto, peanut chicken, or falafel.

Dusty rose in color, Emerson Vineyards Pinot Noir is silky and forward, with aromas of plum, black cherry, and subtle, mellow oak. Ripe strawberry and cherry flavors are overlaid by earthy nuances of truffle. Finishes with gentle tannins and a hint of spice. Pair with salmon, roast fowl, or polenta

Emerson Vineyards Syrah
Emerson Vineyards Syrah is a near-opaque, saturated ruby color. Smoky, brambly fruit aromas give way to a robust palate of juicy blueberry, blackberry, vanilla, pepper, and pie spice. Rich, weighty texture and fine-grained tannins round out the mid-palate and finish. Pair with ribs, Indian fare, or bittersweet chocolate.
