Galveston Bay Brewery

Brewed within a few miles of Galveston Bay, Galveston Bay Beer Company has been around longer than most realize.
The roots of Galveston Bay Beer Company (GBBC) can be traced back to a Louisiana brewpub formerly known as Rikenjaks. In 2007, Rikenjaks closed and all of the brewery equipment moved to Dickinson, TX for storage.
For years, we attempted to homebrew the award winning Hammerhead recipe, but we couldn’t keep up with our friend’s thirst. So, we decided to turn our hobby into our business. In 2013, plans began to reassemble the brewery and resume commercial production.
Reassembly started in March 2014, and the system was ready for licensing in June, 2014.
Estimating 1,000 barrels in the first year, GBBC is prepared for full scale production immediately, exceeding the largest capacity it had ever known before. Fortunately, expansion plans began before we were ever licensed and GBBC was already looking at tripling its production and launching our “Basics of Brewing Beer” classes.
Starting with our signature beer, Hammerhead, GBBC continues to brew fine beer with no artificial ingredients or preservatives.
