  2003 Viognier
Viognier is a varietal we are committed to positioning as our core white wine due to its incredible aromatic potential, complex flavor profile and luxurious texture. The wine is challenging to produce, but the reward is found in a wine that gets back to the roots of winemaking. It is simply a pleasure to drink. Hand picked, hand sorted and whole cluster pressed the juice was 100% barrel fermented in 100% neutral oak (3+ year old barrels).
  Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2002 Summerwood Cabernet Sauvignon is a select blend of Westside Paso Robles vineyards including our estate Cabernet Sauvignon. The result is a wine of pure varietal character, with ample fruit, firm tannins, and balanced acidity. A mild fall in the cool Templeton Gap led to a relatively late harvest at the beginning of November. This extended hang time in the vineyard allowed for a slow development of flavor and character with only moderate increases in sugar.
  Chardonnay
For the final vintage of Chardonnay for Summerwood we wanted to go out with something special. To accomplish this we sourced the fruit from the esteemed Bien Nacido Vineyard in the cool Santa Maria Valley. Whole cluster pressed and barrel fermented in 25% new French and 75% used French Oak the fermentation was slow and cool finishing after the new year.
  Diosa
The 2003 Summerwood Diosa is a blend of some of the most sought after vineyards on Paso Robles west side. The Mourvedre, Grenache, and a portion of the Syrah are from the James Berry Vineyard with a balance of the Syrah coming from the Denner and Lock Vineyards. The touch of Rousanne is also from Denner Vineyard.
  Diosa Blanc
The 2004 Summerwood Diosa Blanc is an irresistible blend of Rousanne and Viognier from Denner Vineyards in the heart of the Templeton Gap of Westside Paso Robles. Whole cluster pressed then fermented and aged in once used and neutral French barrels for 11 months this wine has tremendous depth and complexity.
  Sentio IV
The 2002 Sentio is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from our Estate Vineyard, Petit Verdot from Denner Vineyard (both located in the Templeton Gap) and Malbec and Cabernet Franc from Hames Valley in the warm Southwest corner of neighboring Monterey County. This is the last vintage that this blend will utilize grapes from outside the hills of Westside Paso Robles.
  Syrah
The 2003 Summerwood Syrah is the product of another great vintage here in Paso Robles. A blend of our Estate Syrah, Lock Vineyard, Denner Vineyard and Halter Ranch, this is a true expression of Westside Paso Robles Syrah. Expressive fruit, a rich texture and lingering finish make this approachable now as well as years to come.
  Vin Rouge
The 2003 Summerwood Vin Rouge is a non-traditional proprietary blend bringing together very different varietals to form a wine of layered intrigue. The Cabernet Sauvignon provides the backbone of the wine with chewy tannin and rich fruit. The Syrah fills the mid-palate and adds another dimension with blueberry, smoke, and spice. Finally the Zinfandel offers up loads of bright fruit and hints of pepper. This is a wine that has the structure to cellar for years to come, but is approachable enough to enjoy now.
