On February 23rd in 1836, 184 years ago, 1500+ soldiers marched into present day San Antonio. The Mexican army raised a red flag, and William Travis of the Texas Army responded with a cannon ball from the largest cannon at the Alamo. Because of that cannon blast the Republic Of Texas was born. We as Texans would not be who we are if it wasn’t for those brave actions that occurred 184 years ago. We are proud to be Texans and proud to be Americans. Cheers to the spirit of brotherhood and to the spirit of strong women that make up our great state.
