West Wind Farm is a fourth-generation homestead and recently planted vineyard. We will soon offer handcrafted Virginia wine from our new winery that will serve as a gathering place in Southwestern Virginia. Starting in Spring of 2006, we’ll welcome hikers, motorists, cyclists, motorcyclists, corporate escape artists, picnicking lovers, stressed out lawyers, tired old hippies, Yankee tourists and the occasional wine expert to our breezy hillside. You don't have to be a wine expert. You don't have to have even tried wine before at all. Come visit with us and see what we have to offer. We think you're going to enjoy yourself.

Directions
From I-81: take exit 80. Follow Hwy. 52 (Fort Chiswell Road) South for four miles. Just past Archer Road, the winery entrance is on the left. From I-77: take exit 24. Take Hwy. 52 (Fort Chiswell Road) North for 5 miles. The winery entrance is on your right, about 1 mile past New River General Store.

Chambourcin
Chambourcin is a grape that you'll be hearing more about in years to come. The wine we made from this red French hybrid grape is pleasing and multifaceted. It's very accessible to those that don't traditionally drink red wine and exhibits great flavors of ripe cherries and plums with an appealing crimson color.

Galena Creek Red
Galena Creek Red is a blend we created from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Chambourcin. Having a silky texture with flavors of ripe summer berries, this is a well-balanced red.

Galena Creek White
It's made from the hybrid Vidal Blanc grape and is a refreshing alternative to the ubiquitous Chardonnay. This wine is dry, crisp, and has citrus and ripe apple overtones. A portion of this wine was fermented in French oak barrels which adds unique structural and flavor elements.

Heritage Reserve
Our flagship red is an extremely limited release. The most recent vintage (2009) was created from the best barrel lots of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, yielding an eminently enjoyable Bordeaux-style blend. The fruit character is forthright and is underscored by richness in body and substance in structure. Aged in French oak.

Pinot Gris
The Pinot Gris is a crisp, refreshing white wine, perfect for outdoor enjoyment or just sipping with friends. A slight amount of residual sugar is sure to make this a favorite fo most all palates. You might note hints of green apples and tropical fruit as you savor this wine.
