Gewürztraminer Ice Wine

Glissade
Harvested from the Smasne Vineyards, Yakima Valley, WA in mid-February 2005, Napeequa Glissade began with whole cluster pressing of Gewürztraminer grapes in subfreezing temperatures. Each cluster was checked and hand sorted to ensure all the raisin-like berries made it to press. A three-hour long press cycle tenderly extracted a honey colored juice.

Malbec
Our Malbec for 2004 began with fruit from Kestrel View Estates vineyard near Prosser, WA. Blue-black in color, this wine has substantial depth and intricacy. Rich in flavors of brambleberry, currant and cedar, our Malbec has velvety tannins and a lush mid-palate roundness. French and American oak were both used to give the wine further complexity. Syrah lovers this is for you!
|
Merlot
The 2004 Merlot is blessed with amazing depth, structure and suppleness. Sourced from the Kestrel View Estate vineyard and accompanied by just a kiss Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, this wine exhibits hints of raspberry jam intertwined with mocha and sweet pipe tobacco. Aging in Hungarian, French and American oak provides additional complexity in aromatics and mouth feel, resulting in a wonderful expression of Washington State Merlot.

Randonée
Napeequa’s original line up didn’t include a white wine. It soon became apparent we really missed having a “tastefully done” white. Given the sea of white wines in the world, we looked to create a unique wine that is food-friendly, not too snooty and gives your palate a big hug from the first sip. A Chardonnay-based wine with balanced acidity, composure, and a nuttiness reminiscent of toasted oak, Randonee is perfectly suited for sipping as well as showcasing the flavors in lighter fare dishes, tangy cheese or roasted vegetables. This wine is capable of wearing many hats….the fun part is, you decide which one.
|
Sangiovese
Napeequa's Sangiovese was harvested from Kestrel View Estates, Prosser, Washington in late October 2004. Twenty percent of the pre-fermentation juice was bled off, which enhanced color and flavor. After the completion of Malolactic fermentation, the wine was racked into once-used French barrels and began its journey to becoming an Italian-style beauty.

Trailhead
In honor of the Central Cascades’ early explorers, we have set forth on our own journey….to create a series of masterful red wines as stunning as the mountains that surround us. Careful blending of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot enables us to capture what we think is a reflection of nature's raw yet heavenly landscape. Our first edition, celebrating the ever-popular and gorgeous Spider Meadows, is velvet in a glass. Rich mocha and light cedar tones greet the nose while fresh, sun-ripened berries and dry Belgian chocolate envelop the palate.
