Cabernet Sauvignon
A blend of three foothill vineyards. This is a classic California style Cabernet with loads of cherry, tobacco and cedar in the nose. Each of the vineyards adds it distinct personality to the blend, resulting in a wine that is complex and elegant. Two years of aging in French oak barrels contribute to the complexity of this wine. Lovely and mouthfilling, with a lingering finish.

Carignane – Old Vine
Silver Medal – Calaveras County Fair. These Carignane vines are 80 years old. Grown in the traditional Italian style: head-trained and dry farmed on sandy soils. These vines produce small crops with concentrated flavors. The cool nights of the Delta region promote wines of beautiful color and intense flavor with great balance.

Chardonnay – Sierra Foothills
Sierra Foothills, Wonderful balance of toasty oak and ripe flavors. Barrel fermented and aged in French oak twelve months, sur lees, and 100% malolactic. This is an intense, lush Chardonnay. rich, round and luscious. Silver Medal - Calaveras Fair

Dolcetto
Dolcetto de Celle with foxy wild scent of black berry thicket on a hot summer afternoon. Aging in small French oak barrels has enhanced the very ripe berry character with hints of chocolate and spice. A thoroughly charming racy Italian red.

Gewurztraminer – Sierra Foothills
The same high altitude vineyard as our dry Gewurzt only produced in this enchanting German style - Auslese. With a fragrance that can be described like "drinking roses" this one makes a charming companion to a cheese course with fresh fruits. Gewürztraminer - Sierra Foothills
The grapes for this wine come from a vineyard high above Placerville. We have made this in the Alscatian style, barrel fermented and finished fairly dry. The wine has a lovely floral and spicy bouquet. A perfect foil for Thai foods, wild game birds or turkey.

Ghirardelli Vineyard Zinfandel
2002 Ghirardelli Vineyard Zinfindel This 100+ year old vineyard is located deep in the heart of Calaveras County gold rush country. Five generations of the Ghirardelli family have tended these same unyielding dry-farmed vines. Another stunning release from these stingy ancient vines. Concentrated and extracted, this wine reeks of plum jam.

Merlot – Dogtown
These Merlot grapes hail from the historic gold mining town of the same name. Aging two years in Minnesota sourced American Oak has given dimension to the rich cherry character of the fruit.

Orange Muscat – Clockspring
Honey and peach notes predominate in this lovely dessert wine (12% residual sugar). This is a beautiful late harvest with fine balance and pleasing acidity. Just luscious to pair with berries, peaches or cheesecake. 375 ml.

Petite Sirah – Eagle’s Nest
Grapes grown on a rocky ridge overlooking the Consumnes River struggle to make this big and bold Petite Sirah. Everything about this wine is intense from its deep purple color to its flavors of blueberries and blackberries framed by toasty oak.

Pinot Noir - Sierra Foothills
Like good music and fine art this wine is meant to be appreciated for its harmony and balance. It is an elegant composition of silky smoke, berry and chocolate. A wine to savor.

Port
The ultimate expression of Sierra Foothills fruit. Deep, dark and delicious with easily identified Clockspring spice. This Port has been crafted with Zinfandel and 2 Portuguese varieties. Many a world problem has been solved with a glass of this wine at 2:00 a.m.

Simply Red
Our Simply Red this year is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. It is primarily from the '96 vintage, and was cellared in a combination of French and American oak.
As always Simply Red is smooth, full bodied and very satisfying. Simply Red is simply the best in its category. We blended this wine from a variety of Calaveras vineyards, our first ever all-Calaveras Simply Red .
Simply Red is a great spaghetti wine. Set this table: steaming lasagne, garlic bread, green salad and Simply Red, sounds great! Don't stop there, Simply Red is great with ribs, burgers, pizza, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Monday Night Football.

Syrah – Sierra Foothills
Syrah is one of the noble grape varieties of France. This grape originated in the Fertile Crescent, and migrated west to France. Syrah was established in the Rhone when Caesar’s Legions marched into Gaul. Syrah loves the warm summers of Calaveras County, and here produces an inky dark wine rich with spice.

Silver Medal – California State Fair. Clockspring Clockspring vineyard is now 26 years old and is showing its maturity beautifully in this vintage. This is a wonderful example of the best of Amador Zins. It is intensely spicy with layers of blackberry and black pepper.

Zinfandel – Bicocca
The 30 year old Bicocca vineyard sits on a hillside depression near San Andreas in Calaveras County. The vines on the edge of the bowl-shaped depression ripen fully, while the vines in the cool center ripen slowly. The resulting wine has complex, bright fruit flavors, which preserves a firm tannin structure.

Silver Medal Los Angeles County Fair. This 80 year old vineyard was planted with cutings from the Ghiradelli Vineyard. Very complex flavor with loads of ripe fruit: plums and raspberries. An outstanding example of old and vine zin.
