Yellowhammer Brewery
Thanks to Free the Hops and the change in Alabama's formerly restrictive beer laws, creativity in brewing has come to Alabama and continues to spread as more breweries continue to open in cities across the state. Yellowhammer began as a small two-beer operation soon after the laws changed, launching in 2010 in an old industrial building in downtown Huntsville. We've grown a lot. We now cycle through 18 different styles throughout the year.
Yellowhammer's head brewer Keith Yager draws inspiration from both Belgian and German brewing traditions. He's designed numerous seasonal and specialty batches, from the Dark Hammer Belgian Quad to the UberAlt sticke ale. Other recurring ales include more experimental styles, as with Tobacco Road, an imperial amber designed to complement a good cigar, or a rotating line of saisons that change with the seasons.
