Windy Oaks Estate Vineyards & Winery
|
|
Judy and Jim Schultze are the sole proprietors of Windy Oaks Estate Vineyards and Winery. We are dedicated to making the finest wine possible combining the best of Burgundian tradition with recent advances in winemaking knowledge. Our sole focus is the two great varietals from Burgundy, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, grown in our own estate vineyards. The results of the 2005 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition are in and our 2001 Estate Pinot Noir WON the GOLD!! We believe great winemaking truly begins in the vineyard, and we use only our own estate-grown grapes in our wine. No compromises are made in the winemaking process, and we hope you'll agree that this is reflected in our wine.

Directions
From Highway One, South (Driving time from Los Gatos: about 45 minutes): After getting onto Highway One from Highway 17, go south towards Watsonville. After about ten minutes of driving, you will see the exit for Rio Del Mar in Aptos. Our exit is the next one after that, Freedom Blvd. Exit the freeway, come to a Stop, and turn left. Go 5 miles on Freedom Blvd., and you will come to a 3-way Stop sign. Turn left onto Corralitos Road. Go 2 miles on Corralitos Road, until you come to a 4-way Stop sign. On your left will be the Corralitos Market. We are almost exactly 5 miles from there. At the market, turn right onto Browns Valley Road. You will go over a little bridge at a Stop sign. Turn left. It will stay Browns Valley Road for about 3.5 miles. The road then narrows and becomes Hazel Dell Road. You will be surrounded by redwoods. Drive up Hazel Dell for about 1.5 miles and we are at 550 Hazel Dell Road, on the right, just after Sweetwood Way.

ESTATE 'ONE-ACRE' CHARDONNAY
From one hillside acre in our vineyard, reminds one of a white Burgundy, with hints of pear and pineapple. Layering and structure that reflect the intensity and balance of the grapes. Delicate, yet possesses a classic, complex finish.
|
ESTATE PINOT NOIR, CUVÉE
A blend of clones from our single vineyard shows good structure and concentration without seeming heavy. Retains bright fruit character, with a lingering finish.
|
ESTATE PINOT NOIR, HENRY'S BLOCK
JUST WON GOLD IN THE 2006 SF CHRONICLE WINE COMPETITION! A slightly more intense pinot from two clones in the oldest part of the vineyard. Deserving to be singled out for its elegance and perfumed aromatics. Notes of bright blueberry and other dark fruit.
|
ESTATE PINOT NOIR, RESERVE
Intense red and black fruit on the nose, reminiscent of the 01 Reserve. All the Burgundian finesse that our customers have come to expect from our Reserve, made from three clones from the steep 1.5 acre Bay Block.
