Mountain Spirit Winery is a boutique winery whose unique wines have won numerous national and international wine competitions. They offer many blends available nowhere else in the world - Blackberry Chardonnay, Merlot/Raspberry, Blackberry Cabernet Franc, and Duet (a blend of Viognier and Chardonnay). The winery is nestled on five acres of high country in the Upper Arkansas River Valley surrounded by 14,000-foot mountain vistas. The winery is trying to answer the questions: "Everyone has a Merlot and Chardonnay. Do you have anything different to offer?" They continue to explore new blends of wines while maintaining high standards inherent to the gentle are of winemaking, which gives rise to their motto: "Quality wines with a difference." Visit at either location to taste their truly unique premium wines: at the winery in the beautiful upper Arkansas Valley, or at the gallery in historic downtown Salida featuring art by local artists and fine crafts from around the country. Just off Hwy 50, 6 miles west of Poncha Springs, 13 miles west of Salida. Come into Salida on Hwy 50, go 13 miles west, watch for winery highway signs. Or, from Hwy 285, turn west at 285/50 junction, take Hwy 50 west 6 miles to winery.
